![]() By the time we reach Rise of Skywalker, his character is so much tossed to the side. He ultimately does join and fight for the Resistance, but his character never gets a proper ending. In TFA you could argue he's just as important of a character as Rey. A stormtrooper reluctantly fighting for the First Order who finally has enough and joins the Resistance. This was later changed for Rise of Skywalker, but the original idea had a very good message: that anyone can become a hero.įinn is also interesting. This makes her character's journey much more interesting. Rey is very similar to Luke, but originally she was just a nobody with no important connection/bloodline. They are familiar BUT they also have something unique. And this movie introduces and sets up our main characters perfectly. Harrison Ford gave his all in this, and in return he got his proper send off. ![]() The dialogue is very melodramatic and very soap opera, just like something Lucas would write and I think it works. The other scene one is Han's confrontation with Ben and his death. Again, a very minor scene but his reaction and body language is perfect (sorry I couldn't find the scene on youtube). She gets really excited which causes Han to downplay it a bit and reiterates "I'm thinking about it". First a minor one: when Han tells Rey he's thinking about offering her a job on the Falcon. Lawrence Kasdan ( The Empire Strikes Back, Raiders of the Lost Ark) co-wrote the screenplay and it's so much more coherent and it especially helps the character Han Solo. For me, Star Wars belongs on the big screen and no Star Wars content since has felt special. When it was released in 2015, it had been 10 years since the last Star Wars movie. Compare it to the two-year breaks between the rest of the trilogy. Disney bought Lucasfilm in 2012, and then it was another three years before TFA was released. ![]() When watching the whole trilogy it becomes so apparent how much more care and thought went into making TFA: I rewatched the entire sequel trilogy for the first time since Rise of Skywalker was released. But it's because of how the rest of the trilogy went.
